Welcome To The Megacity

Developed by CD Projekt Red, a company known for its work on The Witcher franchise, Cyberpunk 2077 is a video game that was released in 2020 on multiple platforms (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, and Stadia). The game is based on a classic tabletop role-playing game published by R. Talsorian Games (RTG), and creator Mike Pondsmith returned to act as a consultant.

The story follows V (voiced by Gavin Drea or Cherami Leigh), a mercenary beginning their life in Night City alongside Jackie Welles (Jason Hightower). After accepting a job from Dexter DeShawn (Michael Leon-Wooley), they are shot in the head and left for dead. V survives the injury, but they discover that their mind has been partially taken over by the consciousness of Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves), a former rockstar and rebel who was presumed dead following an assault on the Arasaka American HQ. The biochip being irremovable, V must find a way to dispose of Silverhand before he overtakes their mind entirely.

Throughout the course of the game, players assume the role of V (who can be either male or female) and traverse the urban landscape while developing a unique skillset. There are three distinct character classes — NetRunner (hacking), Techie (machinery), and Solo (combat) — and players can develop their abilities by purchasing cyberware implants.
